to persevere

You know how, when you get started something, you get really into it, and you can’t stop? Well, that’s what happened this afternoon as I was carving the pumpkins for our porch.

I did the first Jack O’Lantern, and thought, hey, that was easy, I wonder if I could do Tasha from the Backyardigans next? Pretty nifty, huh? I used a power drill for the eyes. (And no, I didn’t carve it freehand, I used a stencil.)

As I was out tonight taking the kids up and down our block, I met a few of our neighbours. I think, if nothing else, participating in a community night like this is valuable because you can meet your neighbours. I took the time to chat a bit, and to introduce myself. It was nice.
