dinner for two

DW and I had a very special Valentine’s treat in the form of a kids sleepover at her parent’s house, and an evening all to ourselves. We had a dinner for two, consisting of a very yummy organic vegetable lasagna, olive bread, salad, and ice cider (thanks to MM & GL, the very nice Du Minot des Glaces from Verger Du Minot). Then we sat down on the couch and watched Harry Potter & The Order of the Phoenix, from start to finish. In one sitting. I know.

Things I noticed when dining for two:
- it takes way less time to eat
- it takes way less time to clean up after
- wiping the table takes 2 seconds, because there aren’t huge smears of gunk spread in a semicircle around each child’s space at the table
- we can have bread without worrying about allergies

All in all, it was a relaxing evening, which we sorely needed. Small blessings, indeed.
