“Think MacBook screen, possibly a bit smaller, in glass with iPhone-like, but fuller-featured Multi-Touch. Gesture library. Full Mac OS X. This is why they bought P.A. Semi. Possibly with Immersion’s haptic tech. Slot-loading SuperDrive. Accelerometer. GPS.”

This seems like a logical step to me, but of course, everyone has been predicting this kind of thing for ages, ever since the Newton died. When would we see the return of the Newton? I think with the iPhone we’ve seen the first step towards Newton 2.0… perhaps the MacBook Touch will truly be Newton’s return.

If so, I want one.

Just make sure you aren't tied in to any agreements/contracts/promises leading up to the release!! ;-)

To be honest, I don't know what I think about this. The mock-up photos of this don't really float my boat.

In many respects, the iPhone is turning into the Newton 2.0,
especially with the app store. We'll see how things shape up in the
next year...
