Youth sway family tech purchases—even after they move out

“Young people between the ages of 16 and 27 not only welcome new tech into their lives fairly quickly, they also influence the technology decisions of their parents. Apple’s popularity among the so-called “Millennials” and highly-educated has helped the company slowly work its way into American homes.”

Have you seen the “Mac spread” happen in your family? I know my dad just recently got an iMac, which was surprising to me, but of course I strongly encouraged him to do so. Studies show kids, and wives, often direct much of the buying decisions, more often than men/husbands/fathers would like to think. :) But this is a good thing, I think, for the Mac market share. We’ll just have to see what Apple does with their new position.
